Back-in-the-Day Brainstorms

CEKO (CeljeEKO)

About project

It was the main project of my bachelor’s degree and also the final task before earning it. It was a group project where, together with Tjaša Nemanič and Urša Marolt, we researched and applied some ANTI-FLOOD SOLUTIONS, and proposed new community activities in the Medlog area of Celje.

Drawing schemes and concepts

The design idea was devised based on many trials and errors. It encompassed the natural potential of the area as well as improved flood stability and repulsion.

Main project development

The floor plan was completely designed in AutoCAD after rough sketches on paper. The views were created using Photoshop and Twinmotion for better visualisation.

Public response

We presented our solutions with the rest of the class to the mayor of Celje and to the wider public, and the reviews were great. Some of the projects, including ours, were used as a basis for further development of the area and its realisations.

Urban allotment gardens in Piran

About project

This project was an ‘extra’ at the end of the 2nd year, so it was supposed to be a short one, but it was more like a semi-large project squeezed into a short time period. All in all, it was a very interesting group project (together with Nika Kunavar and Maks Rajgl), where the municipality wanted to renovate the historical gardens, walls and pathways to the church. We focused on the renovation and versatile use of old gardens, which were rented to locals, and we had a task to propose new uses for the area, which would satisfy both visitors and locals alike.

Drawing schemes and concepts

The project was entirely hand-drawn, and our focus was on the practicality of the designed space. We provided the locals with as many ideas as possible.

Computer work

We designed the poster in Adobe Indesign and added the descriptions of solutions.

Public response

We had a presentation of results firstly in the faculty to the vice mayor of Piran and the leader of the local community. We then also presented it in Piran to the locals after their invitation.

Camp Šobec expansion proposals

About project

Camp Šobec is known as Slovenia’s best camp based on its offers and natural beauty. Their motto, surrounded by nature, is seen in the entirety of the camp, using only natural materials for construction. They turned to us with a request to propose how they could expand their business, and we, in groups of two, designed ideas. It was a small and short project that taught us how to analyse tiny details in each area. Together with Adam Miler, we focused on the beach on the right side of the lake and proposed a new arrangement focused on their problems, like a lack of shade and attractions.

Drawing schemes and concepts

We focused on the analysis of the problems and proposed different designs fitting the criteria. We’ve taken a look at the furniture design and functionality, and did analyses on the capacity of the space based on different designs.

Main project development

Different floor plans were designed in AutoCAD and later visualised in SketchUP and Twinmotion for a realistic visual effect.

Public response

Our ideas were within expectations of camps owners but some were new to them and they adopted them in the realisation.
