Biography

After finishing elementary school in a small town called Fram, I continued to a gymnasium in Slovenia’s second largest city, Maribor. It was at the time considered one of the hardest high schools in Slovenia. Following high school, I started computer science in Maribor, since that was the trend at the time, but I didn’t enjoy it, so I abandoned it pretty soon. After that, I was at a crossroads on what to specialise in, so I started researching what my options were and ended up in Ljubljana, starting with landscape architecture.

I’ve spent most of my bachelor’s degree years working across different areas of landscape design, but I felt something was missing. During my studies, I stumbled upon GIS and really liked its potential, so I started searching for a master’s degree in remote sensing abroad and ended up in Salzburg, where I’m gaining the knowledge for my future as a GIS specialist.

My experiences

I have the know-how in many fields, but lack the experience to support them. I gained experience when I worked as a storage house manager, project manager, construction site manager, elementary and high school students instructor, landscape designer and some other smaller jobs I did when requested. I also started travelling more actively in recent years to the locations shown on the map below.

To gain more experience, I set a goal for myself to visit 30 countries before turning 30 years old.
